Their enduring presence bespeaks the presence of Christ through their gentle demeanor. Well advanced in age, they didn’t miss a session of our seminars and exuded a desire to keep learning and growing. In my mind, they represent the absolute best and beauty of the church of Jesus in Congo. Perhaps others who know them better can comment further.

Naomi Unruh praised them. “Pasteur Wenge, old and enduring is putting it mildly, through the rebellion in the 60’s, village pasteur and evangelist, who has given his most and best, and when things had deteriorated to a point that only an outsider could be brought in to resolve the conflicts and church politics of leadership, he was the man! Aged and now impaired with failing eyesight and cataracts, they still hold to the faith in desperate financial circumstances that surrounds them in old age with no pension, they truly live by FAITH. I’m moved again beyond words to see this picture as I was to see them in person.”

Praise God for such a dear couple.

My prayer wall is along my stairs. I have a large map of the world there and plenty of room for photos, too. Do you have a prayer wall? Or a favorite place to pray?

M & Mme Diacre Mundundu Pakasa

Here’s another image of March 2016 Seminar Participants to add to your prayer wall: COUPLE DIACRE MUNDUNDU PAKASA

Sometimes Congolese people choose not to smile for photos. It makes the open beautiful smile of this man and the almost impish smile of his wife even more delightful.

Seour Sylvie

I hope you’ve been adding all these photos to your prayer wall. If not, you still can. It’s a wonderful way to put a face on the people being trained in the seminars.

Here’s another March 2016 Mukedi Seminar participant: SEOUR SYLVIE,  a lovely young lady. Please intercede on her behalf.

Rev. & Mme Munganji

Another Image from the March 2016 Mukedi Seminar to add to your photo prayer wall. This is the REV. MUNGANJI couple.

Obviously there must have been Munganji around the day of his birth to merit that name. They are now a cultural curiosity, but in times past, this name signified a secret society that among others things instilled social order, beat up recalcitrant children, and generally terrified people that would have been free thinkers.

Frere Lukombo Lunga Andre, Youth Leader

Please add this young man to your photo prayer wall. He is another March 2016 Seminar Participant: FRERE LUKOMBO LUNGA ANDRE (youth leader at Mukedi)

He sat right up front at every seminar session. It was obvious that the youth respected him both as a choral leader in the worship, as well as out on the soccer field.

He needs resources!!! As happens so often, he is another leader without resources. The seminar is so important for these young leaders.
